The Freedmans have been at the forefront of racing in Australia for over 35 years and the following figures are hard evidence of their success.
Lee has trained the winner of 122 Group 1 races and over 3000 winners.
Since moving to Markdel at the end 2002, The Freedmans have returned to their Rye property with 30 Group 1 wins. Furthermore 3 of the last 6 champion 3-Y-O fillies have come from Rye as well half of the Champion Racehorse titles in that time.
In the last 18 years (since official trainer records began) Lee has trained 2489 winners. 749 of these winners have come from Markdel and the race is on to train 1000 winners from the tranquillity of the Rye dunes. Staggeringly the total Prize money earned for our owners since 1990 is $141,751,578!
The last 2 Champion Australian sires were nurtured by Freedman. Our former apprentices have gone on to become champion jockeys, former staff have become formidable trainers. In fact, the Freedman legacy is more than just a numerical statistic. Each pedigree page will have a Freedman influence, every Victorian Group 1 has been clasped by a Freedman hand and yet there is still burning desire to do more and the coming season will offer the opportunity to do just that.
