Shhhh She's a sleeper - Hushrose

5th March, 2009

Slade Bloodstock's Hushrose (pictured) took her winning tally to three with a commanding win under a hard drive from Brenton Avdulla at Sandown.

By winning the 3YO fillies 68 rating handicap at Sandown over 1600m, the daughter of Hussonet took her tally to 3 wins from 9 starts and nearly $33,000 in prizemoney. Through into the mix that Lee Freedman selected the filly from the 2007 Magic Millions Sales for a modest $56,000 it is fair to say that these owners are onto something of a winner.

"She looks like she will stay every inch of a mile and a quarter," said Freedman. "And I will be trying to program her to sneak a little bit of black type by the end of the her campaign this time round."

Lee went on to say: "I also was surprised to see her come up at 10/1 on the tote as she was essentially a good thing beaten at Sale last start and Mick Price's Das Machen, the winner of that race, came out and won this afternoon in the 82 rater over 1500m!"
