Stage Presence (pictured) and Damien Oliver produced a performance worthy of his pedigree at Sandown on Wednesday.
With "Ollie" at the helm, Stage Presence found comfort trailing the pace in second position, one off the fence. With an uninterrupted run and unperturbed by Nick Halls "flying dismount" at the 600m, the entire son of Elusive Quality eased onto the leader at the 2 furlong pole and was quick to assert his dominance to win the event by 1/2 length in the respectable time of 1min 11.48sec.
A half brother to the Darley Stallion Reset, Stage Presence took his winning tally to 3 wins and 2 placings from 8 starts. Furthermore Anthony Freedman went on to say: "He may have taken his time to fully mature, but I reckon that over this distance and given an easy passage in transit, he is likely to progress on to much smarter races than this midweek 72 ratings race. Furthermore, he has just done all this lumping 57.5kg against what I consider to be a reasonable opposition."
The Freedman's association with HRH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Darley Stud continue to make waves off the back of Viennese and Kalash scoring solid victories over the last 14 days. With a beautiful selection of rising 3 year olds due to run in the famous Maroon and White silks in the coming months, the Freedman's Rye operation is hoping to further their success with Dubai and Darley.
