Raeburn returned to winning form at Moonee Valley on Friday night and had his owners noting that it was a fair few months between drinks! However, that winning feeling was duly appreciated by David & Teressa Kobritz, Reuban Benkal and Mark Hansky.
Jumping only fairly in manner that is now the norm for Raeburn, the 3kg claiming apprentice Nathan Rose calmly urged his mount onto to the pace and settled sweetly into the box seat. With the tempo solid throughout, the leaders wilted as they rounded the turn and N Rose duly roused the chestnut son of Danehill Dancer through the turn and along the rail to win by 1.25 lengths and in a time of 1min 37.23sec.
Raeburn's winning record stands at 3 wins from 30 starts, but throw into the mix he has been placed on 8 occaisions and has over $122,000 in prizemoney to his name it is little wonder that the Master trainer was determined to have him grace the winners circle once more. Raebrun is from the beautifully related Octagonal mare Portrait and is therefore also a three quarter sisterin-blood to Jet Spur. A former explosive group winning sprinter, Jet Spur is now of the country's most exciting first season sires and is delighting the team from Glenlogan Park with his early success. The family also includes the outstanding stakes gallopers Zeditave, Alannon, Cloister, Greys Inn, Square Deal and Zedagal (dam of Unison).
