6am Thursday morning and a string of Freedman horses that are in need of some quiet R'n'R are quietly paddling through the tranquility of Safety Beach.
You see, when you have a horse trained by Lee Freedman, you are not only getting the experience gained from 25 years training at the elite level, you are also getting the perfect enviroment to nurture the best from your horse.
"Its the reason I left Caulfield" said a becalmed Lee Freedman from Safety Beach "I knew horses could do better if trained elsewhere."
"Markdel is brilliant in that offers a diverse location that encourages horses to relax and thrive. Throw in the privacy of my gallops and the adjoining back tracks and it gives me a variety of options to nurture the best from my horses. . . . So why wouldn't I send them to the beach."
"I use the beach for horses that need a reward; such as those that have won nicely at previous starts or for those that are trying to overcome niggling problems. What I find is that it relaxes them and offers further variety to their daily routine . . . . . . . Its all in the quest to find an extra 1/2 length!"
And is it any wonder that Markdel has produced over 3000 winners and is currently the leading training operation in the State!
