Miss Zapper is simply electric on debut
Two runners at Kilmore on Tuesday, produced two winners and confirmation that Dwayne Dunn is the man for the job.
The early mail from the Racing Services Bureau indicated that Kilmore was due to be a heavy 8 and DLF reluctantly scratched OTI's Okaylah and Alan Green / Brian Singer's Charzoo. However, the mail was wrong and Miss Zapper had her chance to shine on her racecourse debut. The stables impression of Miss Zapper had been one of a potential stayer, however as she worked up on to the pace after a thoroughly professional educational ride it was clear there was more there than just a grinder. Barging her way off heels, she let down to produce a smart turn of foot and snatched the 1200m on the line.
"She has surprised" stated the Freedman's stable jockey Dwayne Dunn "Her work at home as been only fair, but she has come here and got the job done. I suspect that she has been well placed, however all she can do is win!"
In the 7th race Whats The Secret blitzed his rivals to a second straight win in the 0-68 Handicap over 1200m. The Schweppes sponsored horse now has earnings of over $23,000 in prizemoney for the owners that essentially won him in a Schweppes sponsored competition that Adam Sangster's Swettenham Stud endorsed and DLF's placement has seen his career read a creditable 3 wins from 13 starts and 3 placings.
