Gibraltar Moon dominated the 2YO fillies at Sandown on Sunday and notched the Freedman's 150th winner for the 08/09 season.
Jumping smartly under Dwayne Dunn, the Yoshida owned daughter of Rock of Gibraltar dominated the Sunday afternoon metropolitan race and never looked like getting beaten. Clocking a smart time of 58.06sec for the 1000m, the Freedman galloper served up a galloping lesson to her contempories and in doing so ran a very similar time to the progressive 3yo galloper Thorn Lake.
"As with all the Freedman youngsters, this filly is well educated and hit the ground running." Said a delighted Dwayne Dunn. "She will go on from here and I thought her placement in todays race was a straight forward exercise in getting her a Victorian Metropolitan kill."
In addition to Gibraltar Moon, the Michael Sissian and David Howard owned Wallinger went to Adelaide and duly delivered with a slashing 3 length win in the Morphetville 2YO showpiece.
The manager of Segenhoe Stud, Royston Murphey went on to say "He was passed in at the Classic Sale as he had moderate confirmation in front, but I would suggest that this might be a good thing as Lee and the team have done a terrific job in getting him to this level and there is plenty of progression there still.......Its a win-win result, espcially as he payed 6/1 on the day."
Lee Freedman remains the leader of Victorian Trainers Metropolitan Premiership, with a six win lead over David Hayes. Furthermore, Gibraltar Moon win became our 20th two year old win for the season at an impressive 20% winning strike rate......In addition to this 56% of our two year old starters have run in the first 3 season.
Opportunities are still available should you wish to be a part of a Freedman trained youngster, so please contact Sam Pritchard-Gordon on 0430 309 428 to be a part of a winning formular.
