Electromotive entered the race as second favourite, but walked away with $50,000 race as if he were a odds on favourite with a dominant front running display.
"We put the winkers on him and we actually backed off his track work,'' Dunn said. "The way the pattern of the race was unfolding, I decided to be more aggressive and get in close,'' Dunn said. "We didn't really expect to lead, but we were able to and he dictated smartly and kick hard on the turn. He is an above average horse and he just hasn't produced it, so it was good to win.''
The sister to Murphey's Blu Boy comprehensively beat her rivals and raced from pillar to post under Dwayne Dunn. That win took Peter Carrick's green and lime silks to back to back victories for the Freedman stable with Delarouze's rousing victory last week.
"I think the blinkers had her picking up the bit touch fiercly this afternoon" Said Dunn "However she has alot of heart, because I was running on empty with 200m to run."
Rock Home Late took out the 1400m 0-68 ratings race and went 2 from 2 this prep. Racing against his normal pattern of racing, the Rock of Gibraltar gelding led the field up and comfortably secured his next start in better company. The future for him and the Sydney based connections of Billy Balzer, Marcus Levy, Michael Manttan and N Buckland is certainly looking bright.
Given a prominent ride by Damian Oliver, the striking son of Lonhro led up and kicked clear smartly in the 1400m maiden and despite racing very greenly, gave the impression that his future racing career will be progressive and in smarter company.
