Four times Blue Diamond and Caulfield Cup winning jockey Dwayne Dunn has signed a 3 year agreement to ride for Lee Freedman's Powerful Markdel stable.
Dwayne Dunn, who has ridden for successful trainers such as South African Anthony Millard in Hong Kong and David Hayes in Hong Kong and Australia is an outstanding result for the stable as he brings with him a wealth or experience and motivation.
"I have been actively reviewing my options in the last few months to find the right man for the job." Said Lee yesterday afternoon "I made it clear from the outset that it is not just a case of turning up on a Saturday and riding my horses well. Dwayne will be fully involved in the trackwork and the education of the horses coming through. We also agreed that his role will stretch beyond the role of work rider and jockey to provide a service and interaction with our valued owners."
"I have always like Dwayne's work ethic and riding skills and I am delighted to have worked through this with Dwayne and his manager John Begley of Active Sports Management. Dwayne will start his official duties from August 1st and both parties have come to an agreement that will stretch over 3 years and is a unique first for the industry."
Dwayne further added to conversation by saying "this agreement gives stability and creates confidence within both camps and enables us to concentrate on what we do best, Train and ride winning horses. I look forward to becoming involved with Lee and his team and learning from one of the best in the business."
