Palm Trilogy (photo by Greg Irvine) is Derby bound after a dominant win at Cranbourne on Sunday.
Yet another Darley galloper has emerged as a Classic contender from the Freedman Camp, with Palm Trilogy bullishly scoring a win over 2025m at Cranbourne on Sunday.
"He'll follow the same route as Stockade did last year." Said a satisfied Lee Freedman "He'll take on the Geelong Classic and then into the Derby. Funnily enough I had him pencilled in as my Derby hope after he won his maiden at Bendigo in May; which has since produced the winners Excelltastic and Rock Home Late."
Freedman went on to say "Darley's Racing Manager (Trevor Lobb) has continually suggested that this colt reads the papers . . . . Not a week has gone by, when he hasn't tried to get himself into trouble and he is very lucky to have made it thus far!"
A son of the Darley shuttle stallion Dubai Destination by Kingmambo, this strapping colt could yet make it to the mark as a future stallion if his performance continues to rise. He is the second foal of the Stakes performed Danehill mare Dubai Ice, who is in fact half sister to Patinack's Murtijill and the 3rd season stallion Bradbury's Luck.
